The Rent Is Too High/Wages Too Low! Democracy Where? #Affordableforwhom? #OneTermmayor #NYCCwatch

a - city council_2

This page’s focus on the MIH (Mandatory Inclusionary Housing) Mayor DeBlasio’s plan for’affordable housing’ which we believe is just code for yet another trickle down give away to Wall Street, The Real Estate Industry and Developers to build such ‘housing’ which ultimately will lead to the further gentrification of the city and pricing most out of the city.

The only forces that can stop this plan are the PEOPLE of New York City and it will take our principled unity, understanding, organization, strategic actions, and outreach to make sure our voices and the need, for TRULY affordable housing are heard. Although the Mayor has refused to respect the wishes of most community boards and the people who say NO to MIH it is City Council members and our elected officials who are SUPPOSED to represent us that can VETO the Mayor’s plan, only if we show up for and do unified and powerful actions city-wide to make this happen.

Here are some of the major actions and meetings we’ve held and or participated in BEFORE the Final vote on MIH/ZQA, after, and upcoming
